IGNOU has specific programmes targeted for the teaching community in Schools, Colleges & Universities. Primary school teachers and people employed in Balawadis, Anganawadis, Creche and mothers of young children can benefit by taking up pogrammes like Certificate in Guidance (CIG), Diploma in Early Child Care and Education (DECE), Certificate in Nutrition & Child Care (CNCC) and Diploma in Nutrition & Health Education (DNHE). Teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools who are interested in the teaching of English can do Certificate in Teaching English (CTE). For Primary School Maths teachers the Application Oriented Course in teaching Mathematics at the Primary level would be helpful. Teachers working in Junior Colleges, Degree Colleges & Universities can equip themselves with P.G Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE) and M.A in Distance Education (MADE). University and College teachers can do the one year P.G. Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE) which will exempt them from the mandatory requirement of attending the two Refresher Courses (in respect of teachers of Education) or one Orientation Course (in respect of teachers of other disciplines).

Undergraduate Teachers, if interested, can register for a three year Degree Programme in B.A (English, Hindi, Political Science, Public Administration, History, Economics, Mathematics), B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology), B.Com and Bachelors in Tourism Studies (BTS).

Computer exposure, which has become so crucial today in every field including teaching, can be obtained by registering for the 6 months Certificate in Computing (CIC) Programme.

Graduate Teachers, if interested, can do M.A in English or M.A in Distance Education.

The fee structure, course duration, entry eligibility and such other details are available at the Regional Centre and Study Centres of IGNOU. The Student Hand-Book-cum-prospectus along with the application form can be obtained either in person or by post from the IGNOU Regional Centre, 293, 39^th Cross, 8^th Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore and also from Study Centres at Bangalore, Mangalore, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Mysore, Shimoga, Bijapur, Belgaum, Bellary, Davangere, Karwar, Surathkal, Tumkur, Udupi & Bagalkot, against the prescribed fee.

IGNOU - NEW PROGRAMMES

IGNOU is launching two new programmes from Jan. 2001 - (1) P.G. Diploma in International Business Organisation and (2) M.A in English.

P.G. Diploma in International Business Organisation is a one year programme for which admission is open till 30^th September 2000. The programme deals with International Business Environment, International Marketing Management, India's Foreign Trade, Export-Import procedures & documentation, International Marketing logistics and International Business Finance. Graduates in any discipline are eligible for admission to the Diploma.

M.A. in English is a two year programme with certain compulsory and optional courses. Graduates in any discipline can seek admission to this programme.
