Q. What are the reforms that you would suggest to rejuvenate the SSI's?
A. 1. First of all the government should take the responsibility of providing
proper infrastructural facilities with good transport and communication network and
regular power supply.
2. Rationalise the taxation policy. Movement towards VAT (value added tax) would be a good
move.
3. Properly implement schemes like single window, etc., which are existing but not
effective now.
4. Strengthen district industrial centres (DIC) with some statutory powers.
