Kalakshetra
The Ravindra Kalakshetra which is reputed to be the best equipped theatre in Karnataka
is the centre of cultural activities. This is the home of cultural activities throughout
the year.
Kalabhavana, Mysore
This theatre was constructed for the Vishwa Kannada Sammelana and has grown into a
centre of cultural programmes.
District Theatres
The scheme of providing every district with a theatre took shape at the time of the
Vishwa Kannada Sammelana. The project envisages the construction of a theatre in every
district, headquarters so as to provide an impetus to cultural activities.
Open Air Theatres
The scheme envisages the construction of an open air theatre in every taluk and every
hobli, in order to encourage cultural activities in rural areas. The scheme will be
extended to cover institutions which undertake construction of open air theatre at the
mandal level.
Kannada Bhavana
The prestigious Kannada Bhavana is under completion with 1st phase name
"Kadamba" already completed this wing as the following activities.

Drushya - An Audio visual Centre with video Scope of Mini Screen and collection of video
tapes.
Sanchya - Information Centre set up to provide information about the men of literature,
drama, dance, Music etc.
