Dhai Akshar Prem Ke

Dhai Akshr Prem Ke, is literally, a improper mix of two or three big hits in the Bollywood. The title 'Dhai Aksar...' is apt in this context. It is yet another flop of Abhishek.

An orphan Karan Khanna (Abhishek Bachchan), is captain in the army. He is in love with Nisha (Sonali Bendre), a model. While on his leave, Karan comes across, the beautiful gal in distress, Sahiba (Aishwarya Rai), who is an eyewitness to a foul murder. In a filmy style, he rescues her. Sahiba is the daugher of a big industrialist Yogvendra Grewal. This stubborn business man fixes her wedding with Rai Bahadur, son of his friend much against her wish. To escape from the situation she lies at home that she is already married. Hero Karan, volunteers his help and accompanies her back home. Eventually, she falls for Karan, who unfortunately, is not entertaining any such feelings. He is still for his old model beauty, Nisha. Back home, at Sahiba's place, he is overwhelmed, by the hospitality, showered on him by the joint family. Even after Sahiba

openly expresses his love for Karan, he gets back to Nisha. To his bad luck, he finds her already married. He returns disappointed. In the drama that follows, Yogendra Grewal, forces and arranges for her engagement with Rai bahadur again. He happens to be the murderer for which she is an eyewitness. Disgustsed with life, Sahiba consumes poison even before Karan, reaches her.

In this highly dramatised, melodrama, there are toomany unrealistic scenes. Questions like, why Karan and Nisha do not keep in touch for such a long time, remain unanswered. About the script, story line, direction, cinematography, lesser said the better. Music scored by JatinLalit also is below average. If Abhishek Bachchan has to continue in the Bollywood and standout as a star, he has to pay little more attention to the story and the script before he signs for a movie. Otherwise, very soon he will be out of the race.
