Avinash (Anil Kapoor), a true gentle man volunteers his help. He fights against all
those who try to add salt to the wound. As a man of good standing in society, he respects
her individuality, boldness beauty etc., eventually he starts liking her. Preeti mistakes
his love for sympathy and rejects it in one go. Later on she also realizes his stand and
her emotional inclination towards him.
Khushi (Sonali Bendre), childhood friend of Avinash, comes in her MTV out-fits with an
open challenge to marry him. When Khushi comes to know of the relation ship between
Avinash and Preeti, she withdraws. In another sub-plot Avinash shelters the illegitimate
children of his own father. Too many sub-plots at times confuse the audience.
There is a bunch of comedians (Anupam Kher, Jhony Lever, Jaspal Bhatti and others) who try
to make the audience laugh. Although, they come as members of the neighborhood, the plot
runs parallel to the main story. It can tickle the funny bones only if they are loose.
There is nothing extra-ordinary about the music too. Except the title number none of the
songs are hummable. Aiswarya looks gorgeous, Anil Kapoor has worn a typical gentle man's
look. Acting of all actors is convincing.
About the direction, nothing much remains to say, as this is a scene to scene remake. For
those who have watched its Telugu version, it is an average one.
