After a long wait, we finally see the release of Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. It boasts of a super multi-star cast, Shahrukh Khan,

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.

Devnarayan ( Alok Nath) takes up the responsibility of bringing up his deceased friend's children, Gopal (Shahrukh Khan) and Nita (Suman Ranganathan). In the whole process, he neglects his daughter Laxmi (Aruna Irani) and her children, Radha (Madhuri Dixit) and Prashant (Atul Agnithotri). Laxmi unable to bear her father's change in attitude decides to walk out of the house and bring up her children herself.

This hurts Devnarayan's sentiments and he falls sick. Laxmi on the way to the hospital to see her ailing father meets with an accident.

Devnarayan then takes up the responsibility of Laxmi's children.

When the children grow up, Devnarayan discovers Gopal's feelings for Radha and gets them married. Life runs smooth till Suraj (Salman Khan), Radha's childhood and best friend comes into picture. Gopal is unable to digest the closeness his wife shares with her friend and few incidents make him suspect his wife of having feelings for Suraj. He thus takes her out of the house. Unable to bear this pain, Radha decides to end her life. The rest is history.

Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam is actually a disappointment after such a long wait. It is the remake of the Tamil  hit, Thotta Chinungi.

The story though nothing new could have actually drawn crowd had the other aspects of the movie been taken care of. The print looks really faded and one feels as if watching some movie of the 80s. The dance isn't all that great as expected out of a Madhuri, Shah Rukh, Salman movie. Farah Khan needs to work harder. The first half of the movie is even paced and has some light moments but the second half lacks the gripping factor, is very boring and has songs unnecessarily placed here and there. The director K. Adhiyaman does show his talent by not unnecessarily dwelling in pre marriage romantic scenes but does lack logic and consistence at many a place in the movie.

Music track by Nikhil-Vinay are appreciable but one regrets that the much publicised "Khoye khoye din hai" is not there in the movie. The title track comes unexpectedly. Other songs like "Sab kuch bhoola

diya" ,  "Taaron ka Chamkta" are good. The background music by Uttam Singh is light at times. Dialogues by Reema Rakesh Nath are good. Cinematography by Anand Kumar is below average.

Performance wise, all the three stars have excelled. Shahrukh Khan is great in this new type of role. Salman has acted pretty well in many of the emotional scenes and deserves decent appreciation. Madhuri's performance is again excellent but she has put on weight and needs to reduce weight drastically. She looks gorgeous in many scenes though. Others, like Atul Agnihotri, Aruna Irani, Alok Nath have decent performances.

Overall, the movie can be watched only by hard-core fans of Salman , Shahrukh and Madhuri.....
