Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein is a remake of
the popular Telegu film "Kalisundam raa". It is |
|
something similar to Badhai Ho Badhai
released a couple of weeks back.
The story is about Abhay (Fardeen Khan) who lives with his widowed mother (Farida Jalal)
and sister in Mumbai. Abhay happens to be an amiable and lovable character and easily wins
everyone's heart he comes across. Theirs is a happy and content family.. Well, life goes
on till Abhay receives a telegram one day from his grandfather (Vikram Gokhale) who
invites them over to his place for the first time to attend a family function. Abhay's joy
knows no bounds on receiving this invitation. They eagerly leave for the function but on
reaching there he finds |
|
that things are not all that smooth as he
had expected. His grandfather is indifferent in his approach towards them. But, he soon
manages to win over the hearts of everyone there.
In that function he comes across Mangala (Richa Pallod) who he falls in love with. But
before their love story could become successful, he comes across some past incidents that
ruins the relationship between the two families. Abhay decides to sort the problem and
unite the two families. He realises that in order to do this he has to sacrifice his love
and he decides to do that but eventually the grandparents discover the truth and get them
married. |

KTKKHK is a film well done and is a film, perfect for a family. The emotions are certainly
going to have an impact on the audience. |
|
The first half of the film has many light
moments and is entertaining. The film gathers momentum after intermission and the rest of
it is well shot, enough to keep the audience's eyes glued to the screen. But the drawback
is that the story is old fashioned and the screenplay is weak.
Director Ravi Shankar definitely deserves praise for extracting such brilliant performance
out of Fardeen Khan and for handling the emotional sequences so well. Sarmishta Roy's art
direction is superb. Cinematography is so so and dialogues are repetitive.

|
Anu Malik isn't doing well lately and his
numbers here are OK except the title score and "Chudi". Performance-wise Fardeen
Khan steals the show. He has given one of his best performances till date. He has worked
very hard on the emotional scenes which is obvious on the screen. Richa Pallod needs to
work hard on her acting skills and also her weight. Vikram Gokhale and Farida Jalal are
good. The others in the supporting cast are OK.
Overall, the film is good but will face a tough competition from "Kya Dil Ne
Kaha" which is also a decent family entertainer releasing the same day. |
