Govinda and Urmila starrer Kunwara, directed by David Dhawan is yet another disappointing
releases of this year. For those Govinda fans who are looking for good entertainment it is
        really disappointing. |

Raju (Govinda) is owner of a restaurant in New Zealand. Urmila (Urmila) lands up in New
Zealand, in search of Raju, with an intention to kill him. Gopal (Johnny Lever) is very
good friend of Raju, who is desperately in need of girl friends. Taking him Into
confidence, Raju succeeds in finding the reason behind her intentions.

        Raju falls
for her bewitching beauty, after a while, she follows him. When both of them agree to
marry, Raju Comes to India for a short holiday. He finds Sharmila (Nagma), sitting on the
railway track, to commit suicide. Hapless Sharmila, who is ditched by her boy friend is
then rescued by this romantic hero. To save her from trouble, he agrees to pretend as her
husband and enters her family. Unfortunately Sharmila happens to be Urmila's sister. What
complexities follow from this, form rest of the movie.

There is very little to talk about the screenplay and direction, as both are Equally bad.
Chotta.K. Naidu's cinematography could have been better especially, in a country with such
exotic locations and beautiful landscape. Even the songs are not hummable. If Urmila's
fans go with any expectations, they are sure to be disappointed. Acting of Ompuri
(Urmila's father) and Khadir Khan (Urmila's grandfather) is convincing. Of course Govinda
is at his best. The only relief the audience get is by comical moves of Govinda and Jhonny
Lever. But it is not for those who are looking for some good entertainment from the comedy
king. On the whole there is nothing in the movie to appreciates. |
