Kumar Moview "Mahatma" is based on B.R.Chopra directed Super Hit film "Aaj Ki Awaz" which was later made in Telugu and Tamil. Even the remade films had their share of success. Crazy Star plays a special role in the film which is that of an investigation officer who is on a special job to trace out a killer who murders all anti social elements. Sai Kumar plays the role of a simple minded middle class professor who later turns out to be a wretched killer in nights. He virtually leads a double life, that of a silent teacher in the morning and a dreaded killer of hooligans and mafia dons in the dead of the night. 

made a few changes from the original script to suit to today's needs' says director Vasu. Ravidhandran has composed the Music of the film and the Camera work is done by Veteran Gowrishankar.
 
The film was shot mostly in Bangalore and only songs were shot outisde. According to Producers the film is slated for release on March 3.
