Partho Ghoshs Maseeha has been lying
in the cans for years. This boring movie stars Suniel Shetty and Namrata Shirodkar in lead
roles, and is about a savior who fights injustice and oppression. Produced by Time
Magnetics (India) Ltd, the film took years to complete and it shows in every frame of this
predictable story.
Krishna (Suniel Shetty) is an innocent man who goes to jail, thanks to the conniving ways
of Surajbhan (Mukesh Rishi). He falls prey to Surajbhans ways and when he returns
from jail after serving his sentence, he is pained to see that the monsters reign of
terror has further increased with |
|
the growth of his illegal empire. Surajbhan
rules the town of Shantinagar, which he has converted into his base of his illegal
activities. |
D.C.P. Shrivastav (Mohan Joshi) and
Inspector Thapar (Shiva) are hand-in-glove with him. Seeing the tyranny, Krishna decides
to become the savior of Shantinagar and goes about cleansing the town from the evil
villains clutches.
Maseeha has nothing new to offer in terms of story or performances. Its a boring
film that is so typical that you want to cry. Everything is clichd to the hilt,
including Suniel Shettys pathetic acting. Given a half-baked role, he fails to
deliver the goods. The film is so full of unnecessary violence and there are no light
moments except the terrible songs that |
|
|
keep coming from nowhere. As a
director, Partho Ghosh is at his worst ever. The film is stale, the music is pathetic, the
dialogues fail to make any impact and the performances leave much to be desired. This film
should have never released in the first place. And now that it finally has, may a Maseeha
save the poor producers from bankruptcy! |
