Mujhse Dosti Karoge...

Movie Review: Mujhse Dosti Karoge!
Starring: Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Hrithik Roshan, Uday Chopra
Producer: Yash Chopra
Director: Kunal Kohli
Genre:
Love, friendship and sacrifice

Mujhse Dosti Karoge is a story of three friends, Raj (Hrithik Roshan), Pooja (Rani Mukherjee) and Tina (Kareena Kapoor).

The story is all about love, friendship and sacrifice. Raj is in love with Tina since childhood days and Pooja is in love with Raj. Tina, unaware of Raj's feelings, leaves for London and thereafter they keep in touch over e-mails or at least Raj thinks so. Raj keeps writing mails to Tina and does receive mails from her. But, only the audience get to know that it is Pooja who is writing on behalf of Tina to make Raj happy. Years pass by and Tina actually comes

to India. She falls for Raj being charmed by his caring and down-to-earth nature. Her happiness also knows no bounds when Pooja

tells her that Raj is in love with her from the beginning and that she has been writing to Raj on her behalf all these days. Pooja meanwhile suppresses her love for Raj and feels good for having sacrificed her love to her best friend Tina. Eventually, things fall into place and Raj gets married to Pooja and it is Tina who sacrifices her love.

MDK is unfortunately a big let-down considering the expectations it had nurtured in the minds of the people. It has been copied from many successful films in the past, a few of which are "When Harry

met Sally", "The Truth about Cats and Dogs" , "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Saajan" etc. Though director Kunal Kohli has tried his best to make it a masterpiece , the main drawback in the film is that the story is not fresh. Even superstars could not help it from becoming

a complete mess. Music by Rahul Sharma isn't anything great except for the number "Janne wo kaisa hoga re". Though the songs have been well shot, they fail to create an impact. The cinematography and dialogues are mediocre.

Performance wise, Rani Mukherjee steals the show. She has portrayed the role of a girl who is madly in love and at the same time does not think twice when it comes to sacrificing her love for her best friend. She will manage to touch the audience's heart. Hrithik is ok and dances well. Kareena too is fine. Uday Chopra has nothing much to perform but does leave an impact in that small role of his.

Overall, the film can be watched as a time pass and by hardcore fans of Hrithik, Kareena and Rani Mukherjee.
