        Mission Kashmir |

Mission Kashmir, a much awaited movie is probably the first
mega movie shot on terrorism in Kashmir, after the Kargil war. It seems to be a
Mission Impossible for the Bollywood directors to depict the real life their
on silver screen. Whether it is due to their inability or inevitability to compromise with
the box-office formula, still remains a question.

Mission Kashmir is a sincere attempt by
the creative director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, to show the pathetic situation of the homeless
youngsters who have sacrificed their childhood, happy family life etc., for no fault of
theirs. Altaf (Hrithik Roshan) is a representative of such disgruntled youth who are out
there to take revenge for the injustice done to them. Heart throb of |

the youngsters Hrithik, makes a late
entry in the movie. Altaf is adopted son
of defence officer Inayat Khan (Sanjay Dutt), a patriotic officer who, with
all his good intentions, is responsible for the disruption of a small and happy family.

terrorist Hilal Kohistine (Jackie Shroff) who trains him in all techniques required for
the terrorist. Both of them together set on their mission to re-map India by winning over

Although it has a very thin story line, it has many
points to its credit. First of all its cinematography. Binod Pradhan has successfully
brought Indias Paradise on silver screen. Songs are shot excellently. Music which
gives a feel of the reality their, sometimes of terrorism, and sometimes of the happy
            kashmiri folk is good. |

Sanjay Dutt is too good in the role of
a defence officer, Jackie Shroff too is perfect for the role he has donned . Young Hrithik
            has maintained his standard. |

Rest of the cast also is good.

Finally it is a mission incomplete, by the director Vidhu Vinod Chopra for
whom Kashmir is a home state. Despite all the unplugged holes, it is a sincere effort by
the director and his team, to reflect the reality in Kashmir. You can go for it once. |
