            Rahul
(Yash Pathak) and his father Akash (Jatin Grewal) live a happy and contented life
together. Rahul has been told that his mother deserted him and his father, soon after his
birth and that makes him hate his mother.

Rahuls friends Jumbo and 9 year old Isha (Tanvi Hegde) are his only companions
besides his father. Rahul lives a life of complete |

harmony with his father and friends and
never seems to miss his mother till he discovers from John (Gulshan Grover), a local
grocery man , that his mother loves him dearly and remembers him everyday. This makes
        Rahul decide to      |

meet his mother, Meera (Neha). When he does
so, true to Johns words, he finds out that his mother really loves him very much but
she doesnt nurture any ambition to get back to Akash.

Meanwhile, Akash finds a partner for himself and decides to remarry and similarly Meera
hopes to begin a new life with Naveen (Mahesh Thakur). Rahul and Isha makes several
efforts to prevent the new relationships but in vain. |

lawsuit. Rahul is churned between these two people  who mean
everything to him. What is to be seen is who does Rahul finally opt for ?

Director Prakash Jha seems to be influenced by the movies "MASOOM" and
"AKELE HUM AKELE TUM". The scenes between the father and child bear resemblance
to the latter, while the banter between Rahul and another kid, Isha, is similar to what
            was depicted in "MASOOM". |

The climax in this movie is long-drawn-out
and tends to get too melodramatic. Anu Malik's music is easy on the ears, but the
placement of songs is improper. All the credit for this movie goes to Yash Pathak who has
acted very naturally and spontaneously. He is simply adorable.

Jatin Grewal is not very good at expressions
and fails to register any kind of impact. Neha is Ok. Gulshan Grover gives a good account
of himself and Tanvi Hegde delivers a spirited performance. Overall, Rahul can be termed
as an average movie which could have been better. |
