Desire is the root cause for all sorrows, is the age-old proverb
reiterated again and again, by the saints. ‘Swalpa Adjust Madkolli’ conveys the
same message in a comical way. In brief one can say, this message is sent to the audience
in the form of a sugar quoted quinine. Inspired by the movie ‘Bhama Vijaya’
(Tamil color), director Kodlu Ramakrishna has come out with this comical movie with a
serious theme. |

Three
daughters-in-law of Mr. Vasudeva rao’s (Anant Nag) family come from three different
regions of Karnataka South Canara, Mysore and Dharwad. All the three have distinct styles
and strong likes and dislikes. They even pressurize their husbands to make more and more
money. In a joint family what happens if they fail to adjust and tolerate the nature of
other individuals and what happens if people livebeyond means makes rest half of the
movie. The crux of the movie is in the 2nd half where there is an interesting flash back
of Anant Nag and Suhasini.

Director Kodlu Ramakrishna who is famous for making
movies based on novels has come out with this for a change. There is no depth in any of
the scenes in the movie. The three daughters-in-law speak in 3 dialects. These regional
dialects are used as a tool to tickle the bones of the audience. Of course those who have
any respect for their language will not appreciate the way it is being used.
Anantnag’s role as a father of 3 sons is not justified with proper make up. Even the
screenplay is not so good. Music and script is also average. Tara, Chaitali and Damini
have justified their roles.
Although the movie has so many weaknesses, it does help the audience to
recollect the moral that has been suppressed by many other thoughts in this materialistic
world. Those who can adjust with the shortcomings of the movie can go for this. It is a
good family entertainer. |
