Shivanasamudra Water Falls.

Shivanasamudra has India’s first Hydro - Electric Power Station which was set up in 1902. River Cauvery cascades down in two picturesque waterfalls into a 75 Mts. deep Rocky gorge. It is about 85 kms to South-East of Mysore. Island Town of river Cauvery, Sri Ranganatha temple, old Bridge [1818] Sri Someshwara Temple, Darga, Mosque and Cauvery falls called Gaganachukki and Barachukkis are worth visiting.

Somanathapur Temple

Somanathapur Temple.

The 13th century Hoysala Temple at Somanathapur, is 35 Kms east is th Somanathapur village . The temple is in excellent condition has frescoed exteriors with episodes from the epics. The Temple is a Great Architectural Beauty of 13th Century A.D

Timings: 9-00 a.m. to 5-00 pm, fees Rs.2-00 per head.

Ranganathittu Bird sanctuary:
   
About 5 kms from Srirangapatna on the bank of the River Cauvery, season is from June to October.
