Recipe > Apple Jalebi

(Batter fried apple rings dipped in hot sugar syrup)

Ingredients
25 grams flour
5 grams baking soda
1.350 liter water
500 grams sugar

500 grams apples

500 grams oil or ghee for deep frying

Apple Jalebi

Method

  1. Sieve flour and baking soda together.
  2. Gradually add 350 ml  water or as required and mix to a smooth batter.
  3. Put the sugar and one liter water in a heavy bottomed pan and simmer on low heat to obtain sugar syrup of one thread consistency.
  4. Cover and keep it aside.
  5. Peel and core the apples and cut them into roundels.
  6. Dip in the batter and deep fry in hot ghee or oil till golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oil, and dip in the hot sugar syrup.
  8. Serve hot.
