Recipe > Cauliflower Fry

Ingredients
Cauliflower: 1 no.
Gram flour: 1 cup
Rice flour: 1 cup
Red chilli powder as required
Salt to taste
Omum: 1 tsp (Carom).
Onion: 1 finely chopped
Oil: for deep fry.
Cauliflower Fry

Method

  1. Cut the cauliflower into equal medium sized flower buds.
  2. Drop the flower buds into salted cold water for 10 to 15 minutes to remove the dirt.
  3. Next drop the cleaned flower buds in boiling water and cook till they become soft.
  4. Mix gram flour and rice flour together.
  5. Add salt, red chilli powder, omum and chopped onion to the flour and mix them well.
  6. Add the cooked cauliflower and mix well by sprinkling some water.
  7. Heat some oil in a kadai, and drop the flour coated flower buds in oil and fry in a slow flame till they turn golden brown.
  8. Serve as a starter.
