Recipe > Kathal Korma

Ingredients
3 cups raw jackfruit (Kathal)
Oil
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup cashewnuts
2 medium sized onions, sliced
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 cup curd
2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp amchur powder
1 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste

Kathak Korma

Method

  1. Clean and cube the jackfruit.
  2. Heat oil and shallow fry the jackfruit for five minutes and keep aside.
  3. Heat a little oil and fry the grated coconut, cashewnuts and onion separately till  golden brown.
  4. Grind to a fine paste.
  5. Heat two tsp oil in a frying pan.
  6. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for two minutes.
  7. Add the fried jackfruit, curd and ground masala paste.
  8. Keep stirring for five minutes.
  9. Add garam masala powder, amchur powder, chilli powder and salt to taste.
  10. Cover and cook till done.
  11. Serve hot with steamed rice.
