Recipe > Sweet Pongal

Ingredients:

Rice - 2 cups

Green gram dal - 1 cup

Jaggery - 2 cups

Cashew nuts - a few

Raisins - a few

Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

Ghee - 2 tbsps

2 cups ghee

5 grams cashewnuts, raisins

2 spoons cardamom powder

Method:

  1. Roast rice until it gives a nice aroma, similarly roast green gram dal.
  2. Cook in pressure cooker.
  3. Heat jaggery with a little water in a saucepan and add cooked pongal.
  4. Add rest of the ingredients and cook until it leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Milk can be added while serving as a variation.
