Recipe > Sooji Halwa

Ingredients
100gm. sooji (Rava)
75 gm. butter
75 gm. sugar
120 gm. milk
500 gm. water
25 gm. sultanas
25 gm. almond sliced
5 cardamoms, crushed
A pinch of saffron

Sooji Halwa

Method

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Add saffron, sugar and milk and let it boil for 7-8 minutes.
  3. Melt the butter in a pan.
  4. Add semolina, stirring for 5-6 minutes till it turns light brown.
  5. Pour the syrup slowly while stirring and add the sultanas, almonds and cardamom.
  6. Keep stirring for 7-8 minutes with a wooden spoon.
  7. The mixture will thicken.
  8. Pour and set in a glass bowl and decorate with almonds.
  9. Can serve hot or cold.
