Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya...

Movie Review: Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya
Starring: Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Tabu, Chandrachur Singh, Johny Lever, Ketaki Dave, Vinay Anand and
                 Isha Koppikar
Director: K. Raghavendra Rao

Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya revolves around the story of three couples- Chandrachur Singh and

Tabu, Johny Lever and Ketaki Dave, Vinay Anand and Isha Koppikar.

Well, Ravi (Chandrachur), Vijay (Vinay) and Appu (Johny Lever) are neighbours and all the three work as mechanics in the same motor garage. Their wives are Meena (Tabu), Anjali (Isha) and Vimla (Ketaki Dave) respectively who try to pitch in their contributions to supplement their husband's meagre income.

Life goes on in a routine manner till Bhim (Govinda) and Jhumri (Juhi Chawla) step into their  neighbourhood. Bhim has been a goon in his hometown and it is his wife who is responsible in transforming him. Bhim and Jhumri's unconventional lifestyle raises many a brows in the colony and everyone is more

than surprised to see Jhumri going out to work whereas Bhim doing all the household chores back home.

Jhumri becomes an inspiration for Meena, Anjali and Vimla all of who are unable to manage their monthly bills due to their husband's bad habits. Jhumri encourages them to take up jobs and when they discuss this with their husbands they are shown the door. What happens next is something

to be seen in this film.

The film is directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and is inspired by the Telegu hit "KSHEMANGA VELLI LAMBHANGA RAANDI" which explains the scenario in a typical middle class family in today's world. But this serious issue has been portrayed in a comic fashion and the outcome is an overdose of comedy

thereby killing the seriousness altogether. Moreover, the film is a bit too lengthy and the ending is abrupt.

Performance wise, it is Govinda who steals the show. Juhi is the sweet old likeable self once again. It is nice to see this bubbly girl once again on the stage after a long gap. Tabu is wasted. Chandrachur, Isha and Vinay are OK. The combination of Johny Lever and Ketaki Dave is brilliant and there

is nothing much one can do but to laugh and laugh aloud watching the combo.

Music is a big flaw in this film and there is not one number that can be termed as a hit. Overall, the film can be rated average and provides light entertainment for all.
