It is re-make season in Kannada filmdom. Out of 4 releases this week, 3 are
remakes. This Shivraj starrer is remake of a remake, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. In fact
even the title Maduve Agona Baa is the translation of the original Telugu hit
Pelli Cheskundaam Raa.

A beautiful girl is waiting alone for the bus in the night
with no vehicles on the street and no body around. The scene that follows in Indian films
is obvious, she is raped. Yes, that is exactly what happens to Shanti (Laya). A middle
class girl, Laya is an eye witness to a brutal crime. She boldly volunteers and gives her
witness in front of the police and the court. To take revenge, the brother of the gang
leader rapes her.
Laya is thrown out of her house. Her father is scared to keep her thinking that this may
affect the future of her sisters who are still young. She is |
|
deprived of both emotional and
financial support from both her friends and her family.

|
Now comes a gentleman in real sense of the term, Mr. Anand
(Shivraj Kumar). Son of a millionaire will be staying away from his father to stand on his
own principles. He comes to her rescue and gives shelter to Laya. Anand will be taking
care of two illegitimate children of his own father. Eventually these two fall in love and
decide to get married.
Although a remake, it is a good one. It is a movie with a message and stands out
from the regular love triangles. Technically it has nothing new to offer. Music is also
average. Shivraj Kumar has proved his abilities and justified the role. Laya and |
|
Shilpa also have acted well. |
