Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai

Movie Review: Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai
Starring:
Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji, Jackie Shroff, Sushmita Sen
Producers: Rose Movies Combine
Music Director: Aadesh Srivastava
Director:
Goldie Behl

In Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, we trace the dreams and aspirations of a young man who wants nothing but a

handful of sky, and discovers as he travels that the sky is merely the beginning.

Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai is shot extensively in Varanasi. The theme is very similar to that "Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman" starring Nana- Shahrukh-Juhi. The role played by Suraj (Abhishek Bachchan) is that of a character hailing from Varanasi whose ambitions are sky-high and he dreams of achieving it soon one day.

He lands up in Mumbai and in the process of trying and settling down there, he

comes across Pooja (Rani Mukherji) and falls for her. Then his career starts taking off after he meets Naved Ali (Jackie Shroff), a media personality who helps Suraj achieve his goals. Though Suraj finds his

love in Pooja, he finds his understanding in Lara (Sushmita Sen) who happens to be Naved's right-hand woman.

Suraj, now enjoys all the luxuries of life but then realises that the man he always admired and wanted to emulate is not any good person but rather a manipulative, power-hungry editor of a newspaper. This is when Suraj realises

that though he has his dreams fulfilled and achieves what he once wanted to, the price he is paying for it is rather too high. This shatters his dreams and he yearns to get back Pooja to lead a peaceful and

content life.

This is what Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai is all about.

The film is directed by Abhishek's childhood friend, Goldie Behl who makes his directional debut in this film. It is an ambitious prospect for him and he has tried his best to make it a successful project.

The cinematography in this movie by Sameer Arya is mind blowing. The shots taken in New Zealand are excellent.

Music by Aadesh Srivastava is a combination of melodious and modern beats. "Yeh Hawaeen Zulfon Mein Teri", "Kuch Aisa Jahan Hum Banaye" and the background score are among the best songs. The picturisation of "Dil Nashi Har Ada" and "Jhoome Ye Zameen" is dazzling.

Abhishek Bachchan is nearing perfection with every passing movie. Rani Mukherjee has worked hard and proves that she is competent enough. Sushmita

Sen looks charming and has done justice to her role. Jackie Shroff is effective in the negative role. Gulshan Grover has done a good job.
