Dhadkan |
|
Old wine in a new bottle, although an over used cliche, is most appropriate
while talking about Dharmesh Darshan's Dhadkan. It is yet another romatic melodrama.
|
Dev (Sunil Shetty), poor and illegitimate son of Sharmila Tagore falls for
bewitching beauty of Anjali (Shilpa Shetty), daughter of a very rich man. Eventually
Anjali's father disagrees to give his daughter. He emotionally blackmails her and arranges
for her wedding with Ram (Akshay Kumar), a rich business man.

|
After the wedding, Anjali explains to Ram her state of mind. As a gentleman
he does not force her and gives her the space that she needs. Gradually even Anjali
succumbs to the love showered on her by Ram. Hurt by the insult, angry young man Dev takes
this as a challenge, decides to get her back at any cost. He leaves no stone unturned to
become rich.

|
Sheetal(Mahima Chaudary) helps him and gives him moral support to come up.
He comes back to Anjali after three years as a carorpati. He also ruins Ram's business to
get Anjali. What does Anjali decide, will she go back to Dev or decides to stay with her
pati parmeshwar as a typical Hindu pativrata forms the dramatic climax.
Action hero Sunil Shetty, in new romantic role looks slightly uncomfortable. It is the
same with Akshay kumar too. Shilpa Shetty's acting is impressive. But all this goes
unnoticed, as there are no scenes which have depth. Bad screen play coupled with a hollow
story, makes it worst. The only appreciable part of the movie is the music by Nadim and
Shravan, which are well shot in exotic locations of Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Venice
are a feast to the eyes.
