That was the “belief’ of three young IT professionals (Sunil, Varun and Ram) in our neighborhood to launch a 'platform' for budding musicians and music bands to 'cut' their own albums!
Yes! Dogma Tone Records is the name! DogmaTone Records is a Bangalore based Record Label formed to promote rock bands and musicians, basically rock music (which includes all the sub-genres like Heavy Metal, Death, Black, Grunge, Alternative, Progressive, Blues, Nu metal, Punk, Psychedelic, Thrash, Hard Rock, Soft Rock etc. ,)in India.
To promote Rock Music in India, this DogmaTone handler the financial for company focuses on Non-English Rock Bands (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Marathi etc. from across India. Rock Music all forms / sub-genres like - Metal (Doom, Black, Death, and Thrash), Grunge, Soft, Punk, Hard, Pop, Hair, etc., are also in their ambit!
Recently.., they 'cut' their FIRST label The First Mutiny— Dogmas of Indian Rock' an English album! Next, on their agenda is a Non-English album! Already they have identified SEVEN bands. They propose to have a maximum of TWELVE bands. Those Interested may contact the troika!
DogmaTone handles the financials for Bands that are passionate enough to record a demo and serious to take the way forward! Since, it is a registered record label, they take care of all marketing, distribution, sales of the music. They also promote by conducting stage shows, reviews in trade magazines etc.
Concludes Sunil "We are not so focused on Bands....but also Solo artists are our priority. In fact...they are in much 'need' than Bands! With support and encouragement...we hope to take this 'dream 'further".
