Spirited, daring and distinct, Deepika Govind's, bridal collection, ‘A Doll's House', is a tribute to the woman of today.
Drawing inspiration from Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's play, this collection salutes the spirit of its protagonist the dreamer, the adventurer and the spirited woman. The collection for the modern bride comprises three lines:
The Warrior Doll
A line that accentuates stark individuality and opulence. This collection celebrates south Indian textiles and drape traditions, and consists of sinuous lehengas, intricate sans and elegant kurtos in antique gold, red, crimson and mother of pearl. The fabrics reflect the designer's love for traditional textiles and include organzene tissues, kinkab, jamevars, jacquards and intricately woven ikats.
The Adventurer Doll
This line draws inspiration from the wistful dreamer and lays emphasis on delicate detailing and luxurious brocades. The colour palette is of subdued pastels, from vintage rose and fresh green to blush coral and soft Indian mango, ending in natural off-whites with hints of antique gold.
The Artist Doll
Inspired by the free-spirited woman, the line embraces a medley of styles, colours and fabrics - ankle-length panelled jackets over floor-grazing skirts, richly endowed with surface detailing. Replete with overlays and textural details, the line presents a melange of styles in one ensemble- and a spectrum of teats in mauve, green, magenta, indigo and sprays of red.
