Music Album Review |

"16 All time greats, nothing short of being called Anthems" - thus
goes the advertisement for the album review this time - "ANTHEMS", the caption
being true to the fullest.
The album compiled by Mercury Records, a division of Polygram, was brought out in April '
99 and has been selling like hot cakes since then. The album opens with the all time
favourite and adrenalin pumping "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple live at
Oslo, Norway. This followed by "Everything About You" by Ugly Kid Joe better
known for their song "Cats in the Cradle". The third track is the mellow
"Winds of Change" dedicated to the Michael Gorbachev by the Scorpions. The next
track is so-so the song being "In the Army Now" by Status Quo.
The next addictive song is "Cocaine" taken from the cream of Eric Clapton. The
next track features Tears for Fears with "Everybody wants to Rule the World".
After which we have "Easy" by Faith no more featuring Lionel Richie and Moody
Blues "Nights in White Satin".
The following song is the favourite "Walk of Life "by the Dire Straits taken
from their greatest hits albums.
We then have "Stayin' Alive" by the Beegees , "Eye of the Tiger" by
The Survivor, followed by "Suicide blonde" by INXS and "Always the Lost to
Know" by Del Amitri.
The last few songs are "More than Words" by Extreme, "Runaround" by
Blue Traveler. To conclude the album with a bang, just the way it begun is Santana's
"Jingo-la-Ba" recorded live during his South American Tour.
The album, on the whole, is really major stuff, giving quality music for people who live
this type of music. The tapes are priced at Rs. 125 and the CD is priced at Rs. 400, not a
bad bargain for this box of jewels. On a scale of one to ten, eight would be an
appropriate ranking.
