Introduction:
Aihole was the Chalukyan capital before it was moved to Badami. The town has more than 70
temples dedicated to the various deities of the Hindu pantheon.
Aihole presents a panorama of the genesis of Hindu medieval art around 600-750 A.D. Aihole
is the oldest of the three locations with around 70 temples. The most ancient among them
is is the Ladh-Khan where the temple is in its embryonic stage. There is remarkable
