Sparkling Mindz - What an experience!
As you step into the Sparking Mindz Experience Center at Kalyan Nagar...you are 'taken aback'! You are right! The 'atmosphere' and 'ambience' takes you back to your childhood days!
You are greeted warmly by the affable and focused Ms. Sreeja Iyer, co-founder of Sparkling Mindz. She along with her friend...both hardcore professionals were 'bewildered' at the 'skill-sets' of graduates coming out of our colleges to the corporate world. Bewildered,..because of the lack of ‘THINKING' skills the way the corporate world needed!
This constant 'searching' for right candidates...had turned into a 'passion’ to make a beginning somewhere! Come 2011, the idea fructified as Sparkling Mindz!
Based on Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences framework...they formed structured MODULES for each program with a team of resource people who came from varied backgrounds. With another team of highly motivated Facilitators who would then take these programs to children...the 'passion’ was complete!
The center was first started at Kalyan Nagar followed by various ‘partner-centers' at Koramangla, Jayanagar, Whitefield, HSR Layout, Sarjapur.
Thinking Skills Program
- 5 to 7 year olds program for 9 months and 8 to 13 year olds program for 18 months and each session goes from June to Feb every year.
- The entire program is divided into different modules: Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Decision Making, Values Frameworks and more...
- Classes are conducted for 2 hours / week. The first three modules - Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking and Communication Skills are for 5-7 year olds and all the 6 modules - Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Decision Making and Value Frameworks are for 8-13 year olds.
- At the end of the program...useful feedback are given to parents to enable them to work with their children in a positive way to create behavioral improvements and understand the children better.
- Also, post these programs; there are advanced levels where the child can sign up for which will 'entail' the child to take part in open ended project based learning workshops that would act as real-life applications.
