Science Faculty Ph D :

  • Master's Degree in Science in an appropriate field or Agriculture or MBBS or M Pharma or M V Sc or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Engineering Faculty Ph D :

  • Master's Degree in an appropriate field of Engineering or Technology or Business Administration.

M Sc (Engg) : one of the following with specialization as applicable to each programme :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science / Computer Applications, Economics, Business Administration, Operations Research, Social Work, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry or Geology
  • B Sc (with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry) followed by AMIE/AMAeSI/AMIIChE/AMIIM/GRAD.IETE/AMIETE.
  • Candidates should have a minimum Second Class or equivalent grade (pass class for SC/ST) in all the above cases.

All Candidates should qualify in any one of the tests - GATE, CSIR-UGC NET, NBHM (for Mathematics department only), or IISc Entrance Test.

Candidates with qualification in electrical sciences should qualify in GATE only, as IISc entrance test in electrical sciences discipline is not conducted. However, those with a first class ME/M Tech applying for admission in Engineering Faculty need not appear in these tests.

INTEGRATED Ph D in Biological (BS), Chemical (CS), Physical (PS), and Mathematical Sciences (MS) :

Qualification : First Class (as declared by the University) B Sc under 10+2+3 system.

  1. BS : B Sc in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Pharmaceutical, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences) with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects at the B Sc level and Mathematics or Chemistry or Physics at the PUC/Plus 2 level.
  2. CS : B Sc with Chemistry as one of the main subjects with Mathematics at PUC/Plus 2 level.
  3. PS : B Sc with Physics as a main subject.
  4. MS (New Programme ) : B Sc with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
