• It helps in saving costs and enhancing profits.
• It does not involve the implementation of regulatory measures and punitive action on the polluter.
• It does not set standards for industries in general. It views the problems of each industry as a individual case.
• Since it gives importance to the economic costs of pollution prevention the investment in CP measures is low.
