Rogue Elephant is a gem in the heritage suburbs of south Bangalore, set on a patio with simple decor. The menu is a mix of Mediterranean, Thai and Continental but the salads are what keep the crowd coming. In the sultry rainy months, opt for the citrus salad with sweet chilly chicken or feta, or beat the heat with the salty watermelon salad. The signature dish is the fig and panacotta salad - with plump figs and soft panacotta cubes harmonized with a viscous balsamic reduction, served on a bed of salad leaves. Normally panacotta is reserved for Italian desserts, but co-owners Sheila and Anand gave their fig salad a new makeover which has earned them a loyal fan following. So much attention has their menu gained, that customers are prudent enough to call and check if their signature salad is available, as all the ingredients are organically sourced on daily basis.
