V.V Puram's Food Street

During the day, there's not even a sign of its existence. But as the evening lights come on, a tiny road running off from V.V. Puram circle takes on an appearance that is both fascinating and mouth-watering.
An assorted set of establishments serving all kinds of vegetarian stuff, spring up and do roaring business well into night. Paper plates lined with banana leaves serve as crockery and the pavement is the ambience. Go here to sample chaats, bhajias (deep fried flour batter), corn salads, hot jalebis (a syrupy sweet made of deep fried batter), holige (flat sweet bread), all kinds of dosas (including those stuffed with lemon rice and puliogre/tamrind rice), idlis, akki rotti (chappatis made of rice flour), and some North Indian items like roomali roti. and the ubiquitous Bangalore staple, 'gobi manchuri". To wash all of it down, try the cold badam (almond) milk or the masala Pepsi.
