The busy promenade Kammanahalli Main Road has added a new entrant in it’s' feather. City Kitchen Restaurant! As you walk from the Cuter Ring Road towards Kammanahalli..you just can not miss the array of red on to your left ….opposite Food world.
The Journey. Mumbai to Dubai & Bangalore…..
When you First step inside made the restaurant, the first thing you would notice is the genial Khan!Yes! Hidayath Khan, the Proprietor... welcoming his guests with his smile and a handshake Prod him comes the Mines the answer. ‘Why the name? Well there was this City Kitchen in Mumbai those days! And the food was excellent... Hence, I decided in keep the same name for my restaurant at Dubai... and it continued after my homecoming too! The first restaurant by the same name was stated 5 years back at Banaswad Main Road
All inclusive cuisine: Asly Khana....
As you flip through the menu card on the neatly arranged table you begin to notice the variety of dishes and you tend to get confused... as to what to chose! You name it….They have it! Soups, Tandoor Rolls, Biriyani, Naans, Rotis, Rice…. The restaurant offers both veg & Non-Veg.
The hot & sour soup arrives and you taste buds start tickling! It is quite hot! The waiter suggests to try their specialty. Hariyali Kabab. Whilst devouring on a roll! Veg / Egg/ Chiken/ Paneer and the Nizami roll (Kalmi kabab shredded and stuffed) one roll would surely, make your meal at this place! The stuffing's are "really stuffed' to the brim!
Arrives…hairyali kabab! Yummy! All of green (mint masala) and succulent chicken with Pudina Chutney…hariyali sure would give you that (WAHI) Moment! Another (kabab) worth a try would be lasuni (garlic) or Adraki (Ginger) or Malai for the sweet toothies!
There is a whole range of Rotis / Naans, Kulchas/ Parota’s….. if you are a wheat lover!
The Rice is both Indian and Chinese. You have the usual Pulao’s and Fried Rice varieties. Try out the Schezwan Fried Rice ….. it’s different!
The choice in Mutton and Chicken is a awesome! Bhuna Ghosh at Rampuri (Boneless mutton) or the Ragan Ghosh you could have them dry or gravy along witth your Rice pr Naan. If you are a chicken lover don't miss curry dum. This is a specialty at this place! A whole leg piece of chicken marinated with curry masala and filling far sure! Then there is this Lolly Pop Chicken (Boneless) which is only for Kids! For the Arab lovers...there a whole range of Arabian dishes that is as sweet as sugar!
Weekend special: Prawns and. fish are available from Friday to Sunday only
Authentic Indian Cuisine: Home- made masalas-
Hdayath Khan chips in again –‘All the masalas which is being used are our own! We buy the ingredients and our chefs prepare the masalas at our unit in Banaswadi Main Road. Hence, You would notice the difference is taste and flavor. We don't use readymades at all'. Apart, From this local ‘touch’ all the chefs are from different parts of the country and have been loyal to the restaurant for long!
South Touch: Simply South Breakfast……
In the mornings, you could find another portion of this restaurant serving delicious South Indian Breakfast! Idly / Vada / Pongal / Dosas…. all with the different sets of chutneys with hot coffee! The breakfast counter is open from 6.00 to 12.30 and from 4.00 to 8.30 (Bondas / Vadas / Samosa / Qutlets etc,.)
The Journey continues: for one and all...
Khan has the last word ‘The main idea is o appeal to all sections of people. From the middle-class... to working professionals to families! Anyone could have a decent meal in my restaurant for as less as 100 rupees and a family enjoys a wholesome evening for 500 rupees".
With Shormas / ice-creams /cones being the new additions to the 'asly khana'... Qty Kitchen is sure place for one and for all …too!
