If you expect something from director Kundan
Shah who gave some wonderful films like 'Kabhi Naa Kabhi Haan' and 'Kya Kehna', You are
bound to be disappointed if you see his latest 'Hum To Mohabhat Karega'. Kundan Shah
has tried to mix all sorts of commercial elements in a suspense story hampered by a weak
script.
Production values are rich and even the technical aspects are good. But what is the use of
all these things, when there is jaded narration of a weak story. Despite well picturised
songs, the film suffers because of the negative impact of a weak narration.
Bobby Deol in the role of a Udupi hotel waiter, is impressive only in parts. Karishma is
just above average in her acting prowess, but looks glamorous. Johny Lever has become
repetitive and boring these days. Shakthi Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, Sadashiv Amrapukar
and Rohit Roy pass muster. Kashmira Shah oozes a little more glamour into the film.
The Music of Anu Malik is popular and the foot tapping title song is well picturised.
The film was expected to be a good thriller, but it seems to be a below average fair after
its release.
